Working Together For Wellness (WTW) has been operating as a community coalition since 1987. It is made up of local, volunteer citizens who meet regularly to discuss the issues of substance abuse that face the citizens of North Kingstown. We work hard to identify the community risk and protective factors that either contribute to, or prevent substance abuse from occurring. Our membership is dedicated to staying educated on the latest research involving substance abuse prevention and community best practices in order to advocate for the most appropriate, up-to-date prevention programming for North Kingstown that will foster change.
Membership represents different community sectors to include, but not limited to the following: parents, youth, school personnel, seniors, law enforcement, faith-based and other concerned citizens who either live, work or attend school in North Kingstown.
The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), a component of the Executive Office of the President, was established by the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988. The principal purpose of ONDCP is to establish policies, priorities, and objectives for the Nation's drug control program. The goals of the program are to reduce illicit drug use, manufacturing, and trafficking, drug-related crime and violence, and drug-related health consequences.
